Ford F-Series Tops Sales Charts Yet Again

Ford truck fans know it’s good to be the king as F-Series sales finished strong in 2019.

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that, once again, the Ford F-Series is the best-selling pickup truck in America. Even more impressive, it’s the best-selling vehicle in America, period.

That means that the F-Series has led the pickup truck sales charts for an impressive 42 years. Equally impressive is its status as the best selling vehicle in America, a title the F-Series has held on to for 37 years.

The Detroit Free Press article goes on to explain that the F-150 in particular led overall sales in 22 out of 50 states. More specifically, it’s a bestseller in 20 of the 50 largest metropolitan areas.

It’s not an exaggeration to say that the F-Series has a stranglehold on the American car market. Pickup trucks are tremendously popular overall, but none are as popular as the mighty F-Series.

Chevrolet’s Silverado 1500 led sales in nine states, while its GMC counterpart led in one. Additionally, the Toyota Tacoma led new vehicle sales in one state. With 33 out of 50 states selling more pickups than anything else, it’s safe to say that America’s love affair with the pickup is as torrid as ever.

Of course, it’s no fluke that the F-150 is selling so well. Simply put, buyers love the F-150 because it’s a great truck.

You see, there’s another multi-year championship dynasty attributed to the F-150. For the sixth year in a row, Kelley Blue Book has named the Ford F-150 as their Pickup Truck Best Buy.

That’s a hotly contested award, and we’ll give credit where credit is due. We will readily admit that GM and Ram pickups have gotten much better in the past few years. However, Ford remains on top year after year, and it feels good when the experts agree with us.

Both of these announcements have made the first week of 2020 a great time to be a Ford truck owner. If we were in the market for a new truck, there’s only one we’d consider — and we’re not just saying that because this is Ford Truck Enthusiasts, either.
