Ford E-350 Moving Truck Takes on Chevy-Powered Isuzu in Funniest Drag Race Ever
The world’s slowest drag race between a Ford E-350 and Isuzu moving truck also happens to be very entertaining.
We feature all sorts of drag races on a nearly regular basis, the vast majority of which occur between seriously fast vehicles. This particular race, however, is not that. In fact, one could argue that lining up a pair of big, boxy moving trucks against each other is pointless and stupid, and you might be right. But there’s just something about this video – which pits a Ford E-350 moving truck against a Chevy-powered Isuzu NPR HD – that had us laughing uncontrollably.
Part of the humor comes from the simple fact that racing a Ford E-350 against an Isuzu NPR HD is downright silly, to begin with. But most of it stems from the video’s host – YouTuber Can I Be Frank – who pilots the Isuzu. The video starts in a dramatic fashion, with CIBF calling this a “battle to the death” between Ford and Chevy because the Isuzu is powered by a Bow-Tie engine.
The big boxy Blue Oval truck has a big advantage in that department, however, as it’s packing a 6.8-liter Triton V10 under its hood. Meanwhile, the Isuzu features GM’s legendary LS V8, though the host isn’t sure if it’s a 6.0-liter or 6.6-liter powerplant. Regardless, the Ford has to be the early favorite based on its displacement advantage, and even our host is aware of this fact.
This paper win translates to a real-world victory as well. From a roll, the E-350 simply walks away from the Isuzu, much to the host’s chagrin. “Nooooo!” the host yells humorously. “He said it felt slow. Look at him walking away from me! It walked me. Really?” Things don’t go much better from a dig, as the Isuzu starts out neck-and-neck with the Ford before once again getting gapped.
For the third and final race, the Ford gives the Izusu “the hit” and about a cab’s length advantage. “Here we go again,” our host says with hope in his voice. But once the E-350 starts to pull ahead again, that tone quickly turns to disgust. “There we go, here we go….noooo!” Then, acceptance sets in. “He’s faster, there’s no doubt about it,” CIBF concludes. “It’s Ford versus Chevy, that’s what happens.” And even though this race is a bit unconventional in every way, we have to agree with that sentiment.
