Want a Big Boy Toy? Hop in the 2016 Ford F-150 Tonka Edition
They say that boys don’t ever stop buying toys, it’s just the size (and price) of the toy that changes. This 2016 Ford F-150 Tonka Edition is living proof of that.
This truck walk-around video comes to us courtesy of Peoria Ford Commercial Fleet, where we can appreciate all the interior and exterior details of this huge, bright, yellow real-size toy truck. For starters, the interior remains largely identical to that of an F-150 Lariat, for the exception of the yellow “Tonka” embroidered on the headrests, and a pretty neat Tonka dump truck badge on the center armrest.
While things are relatively low-key inside, it’s the exterior that’s the complete opposite. What began as a stock F-150, is now a lifted, widened, and beefed up limited edition truck. The wide fender flares, side skirts, hood scoop and other body moldings have all been painted to match the body, which gives the truck a first-grade customized look. Heck, even the engine cover is painted yellow! BF Goodrich Mud-Terrains mounted on 20-inch wheels finish off the aggressive, yet stealthy look.
When it comes to daily functionality, the Tonka Edition features an attached body-matched bed cover, a rhino-lined truck bed, a powerful LED light bar built into the fender for a tailor-made look, and how could I forget, a sweet and burbly-sounding aftermarket exhaust. All-in-all, this real-life Tonka truck is pretty darn sweet, and while I’m not sure that I’d rock a bright yellow truck, I certainly like all the goodies this bad boy’s got. Would you?
