2021 Ford Bronco Plays Role of Wingman in Surprise Marriage Proposal
Best future husband ever surprises his future wife with a tour of the 2021 Ford Bronco, followed by a ring.
The 2021 Ford Bronco won’t even begin to land in public hands until next June. But we already know that it’s a special vehicle, one that the Blue Oval has put a ton of work into. The Bronco has also attracted its fair share of fans over the years, and Colorado resident Taylor McQueen is one of them. So when it came time for her boyfriend, Daniel Kubistec to propose, he wanted the new Bronco to be his wingman.
For most, this would be a pipe dream, as not just anyone can rock up to Dearborn and borrow a prototype. But Kubistec’s uncle, George Goddu, just so happens to be an electric vehicle strategist who has spent 30 years working for Ford. He was able to make it happen, and arranged for a 2021 Ford Bronco prototype to roll over to Ford’s under-construction Michigan Central Station for an appearance.
“Half a dozen people within the company said this would be fun, and cool, and special for this couple, let’s make it happen,” Goddu told Fox 2 News. “And they took time out of their day to make it happen. I think that’s one of the special things about Ford, it’s a family company.”
Funny thing is, when the big day finally came, McQueen was so excited about the Bronco she almost didn’t realize what was really happening. “I was freaking out because of the Bronco, so I was on an adrenaline rush because of that,” McQueen said. “And then that didn’t cross my mind that he was going to propose. Then all of a sudden he got down on one knee and I just freaked out. I was in such shock and then it made total sense, everything kind of came together. I kind of blacked out a bit, it was one of the best moments ever.”
The whole scene looked like something out of a movie. Even the construction workers at the Michigan Central Station site stopped working and cheered them on. And watching it all happen is rather heartwarming, no matter who you are.
McQueen and Kubistec haven’t yet made any wedding plans, but they already know what vehicle they’ll be driving around in once they tie the knot – a new Ford Bronco. “Oh yes, I already put the money down to go get that,” McQueen said. We couldn’t think of a better wingman, or future family member, than that.
