2019 Ram 1500 Caught Undisguised. Will It Be F-150’s Toughest Rival?
Boasting a new exterior look and a bold approach to its heavyweight competition, the 2019 Ram seems to be ready for war.
The half-ton truck segment has been a competitive one for decades. That being said, it seems that this high-stakes mission of designing the best pickup truck for the masses has become downright cut-throat in recent years. And now, it’s the 2019 Ram 1500 that’s bringing some heat to the scene.
Most of you remember the silly ads from Chevy trying to knock on Ford for their aluminum usage, which involved caged bears and bulldozers carrying rocks. Heck, Chevy went as far as placing a fake oval on their camouflaged test mule of the upcoming Silverado! The folks at Ram haven’t dipped as low as Chevy with their advertisements, but that’s probably because they’ve been busy working on their new half-ton baby.
The folks at our brother site Dodge Forum recently got their hands on exclusive spy photos which show the 2019 Ram 1500 largely uncovered, and revealing most of its important bits. On these proprietary photos, you’ll appreciate the new front grille design, the new hood (and badges), as well as a portion of the rear end and profile. Of course, no details regarding its construction, materials, or specs have been leaked, but it certainly looks like a robust truck.
We at Ford Truck Enthusiasts believe the F-150 is king, and that it will continue to rule the American market like it has for 40 years straight. So there’s no need to worry, really. Well, except for one thing: Why did they copy the Silverado’s front end?
