Few details remain about the vintage F-150, but it is definitely ready for a resurrection.

Fall is the perfect time to begin work on your current Ford truck project, or to start a new one. All of summer’s excitement and busyness, now replaced with longer nights, football Thursday through Monday, and plenty of time to crack open a cold one while knocking out an engine install, suspension upgrade, or a fresh coat of paint.

If you happen to be looking for a new project Ford truck to spend those cold days to come with, our Ford Truck Enthusiasts Marketplace is the first place to start. In fact, just the other day, we happened upon this 1977 F-150 short bed looking for a new home while on its way to whatever glory it will eventually achieve.

According to the seller, blue351, the F-150 Custom “has a running 460,” plus its original 400 V8. Either engine delivers the goods to the corners through an automatic transmission, though how many ponies are available is a mystery known only to the seller.

The cab has some light rust spots near the F-150 Custom badge on the passenger side, along with some stains from the elements, and peeling paint on the driver’s side around the badge. What little we see of the interior looks mostly complete, aside from the stock radio having been replaced by what seems to be an aftermarket unit. A good scrubbing does appear to be in order, though what else will be needed remains up in the air.

There appear to be some new elements to this project F-150, though. For starters, the blue bed not only matches some of the front suspension components, but looks freshly painted and sanded, with spray-in bedliner to complete the first steps. It certainly stands in stark contrast to the matte black cab.

The Kentucky-based seller is looking for $2,750 or best offer for the F-150 project. If you’ve got some combination of time, money, and skill, this could be the project for you. If not, don’t worry: there are plenty of trucks available for sale on our marketplace today!
