Powerstroke Lights Up the Dyno with 1001 HP, 1800 LB-FT of Torque!

1,000+ horsepower is a magical number, one that is achieved by only the hardest of the hardcore street machines and racers.  Where it isn’t often seen is in a truck, especially not a lifted, diesel truck.  But why not?  The 6.4 Powerstroke is an excellent baseline motor for squeezing out big time dyno numbers.

The proof is in the pudding right here, as this Super Duty annihilates the dyno to the tune of 1,001 horsepower and an insane 1,800 lb-ft of torque.  Details of how these numbers were achieved are scarce, but some digging provides us with a little insight.

Dual pumps and a custom fuel system, a 71 mm turbo, and two stages of nitrous help the stock bottom end achieve these atmospheric numbers.  That’s an impressive number for any vehicle at the flywheel, but it’s even more special when you realize this was accomplished at the rear wheels.

That means we’re probably looking at 1200-1300 horsepower up front, before the driveline robs some power.  These are figures that will make any muscle car enthusiast green with envy, and are sure to result in a pretty impressive quarter mile run as well, despite the truck’s obvious weight disadvantage.

And to me, that’s all that we’re missing here.  It would be pretty awesome to see this truck rip up a local track, as we’ve seen what similar applications have done at the diesel drags.
