- Ranger sales continue strong, up 26 per cent over last year for the best August since 1996
- Windstar sales up 20 per cent over August, 2002
OAKVILLE, ON., September 3, 2003 – Ford truck sales of 13,638 units climbed six per cent over August 2002, lead by Windstar, Ranger and F-Series. Car sales of 4,668 units were off 26 per cent from the same month last year, resulting in combined sales of 18,306 vehicles, which represented a five per cent decrease from August 2002.
“The strong performance of F-Series and Windstar build momentum for the introduction of the all-new 2004 Freestar and F-150,” said John Vernile, director of field operations, Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited. “F-Series continues its 37-year tradition as Canada’s favourite pickup truck.”
“The Ranger compact pickup continues to bring younger customers into Ford dealerships and with sales up 26 percent over August 2002, this year was the best August since 1996,” added Vernile.
