SEMA Famous 2003 E-350 4×4 Van/Truck Pops up for Sale
If you're into old school oddities, they don't get any better than this SEMA-vet Ford E-Series van/truck painted up in Harley-Davidson livery.
Throwback Oddity
Van and truck combinations are nothing new, of course. Conversion companies like Centurion were turning Ford E-Series vans into pickups back in the '80s, and several others have followed that trend. But when Ford was looking for a cool, unique build for the 2004 SEMA show, they commissioned a company called Quadvan to conjure up a little bit of a throwback.
Rare Opportunity
Now, many years after it graced the floors of Vegas' automotive extravaganza, this Ford E-Series conversion is up for sale at eBay for the very first time. But with a stout price tag of $125k, it's going to take a special kind of fan to pony up for it.

Brand New
But at least they'll be getting what is essentially a brand new vehicle. That's because this van, dubbed "Shotgun," has remained in dry storage for the last 15 years and has traveled less than 600 miles since the 2004 SEMA show.

Detailed Plan
The concept behind this interesting build was to create a short nose, "cab forward" design based on Quadvan's durable 4x4 underpinnings. The folks at Quadvan also wanted to make it look like it came straight off a Ford production line, a goal we feel they pulled off flawlessly.

Seamless Transition
Thus, the crew started out with a 12-passenger van and got to work cutting it up. During the process, they were careful to retain the van's original functionality while also widening the rear cab section to blend seamlessly with the front.

Rough and Tumble
After painting the van in traditional Harley-Davidson orange and black, they proceeded to fit it with a host of rough and tumble off-road components. Things like a custom brush guard, a tow hook, and a winch (which has since been removed).

Change of Plans
There was just one tiny problem with the decision to paint the van in Harley livery - Ford didn't know about it. So the team was forced to cover up all the H-D logos and badges with black tape before displaying it at SEMA.

Packing a Punch
Other than that little snafu, this build went off without a hitch. And it even packs a decent punch under the hood. Quadvan fitted the factory V10 engine with a Whipple supercharger, shorty headers, exhaust, injectors, and a custom tune.

Harley Inspired
Inside, the Shotgun van is fitted with a host of Ford F-Series Harley-Davidson edition parts including the captain's chairs, dash, center consoles, and even the gas and brake pedals.

Best of Its Breed
Throw in some Bilstein reservoir shocks, manual locking hubs, and beefy Toyo tires, and this is one van/truck hybrid that can seemingly do it all. And if you're a fan of this unique genre, it's safe to say they don't get much better than this!
