Bought this back in 198? and had the engine rebuilt by Master Mechanics in Port Angeles WA, to make sure I didn't get stuck on the Alcan Highway. I was an engineer on ships and tugboats at the time.
I have a bedliner in the back and a fairly lightweight cover with windows that lock or can be opened to fold up and let me access tools easily.
Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
New carb, Edelbrang valve covers. New Ignition Coil. Has spare Duraspark II ignition box under the seat. Also have a new gas filter ready to install as soon as weather permits.
Suspension Modifications:
I changed out the shocks in the 90's after driving from Oregon to Anchorage AK. About time to do that again. Maybe this time go with air shocks.
Wheels/Tires Modifications:
T/A radials with baby moons, Tow bar welded onto the back, with the electric towing brake setup.
Interior/Exterior Modifications:
tapedeck, New seats from a winabago, new dashboard. new speakers,
has tow package, RPM gauge, and vacuum gauge. Changed out the dashboard speaker to a big razoo speaker, and changed out the door speakers to big new ones. I have one more speaker to mount in a shollow box to sit under the drivers seat and give me a bass massage.
NO it isn't going to be so loud it can be heard outside of the truck. Just play the Eagles at volume #3.
Future Modifications:
The Marty McFly Delorian Engine that will take me back to the future.
Plan on doing away with the DuraSpark II system and going to the MSD system. Getting the bigger coil and doing away with the round one. Also putting in the Novak Water/alcohol injection system and advancing the timing because preignition is no longer any problem with that Novak system. Going to change out the radiator to a nice aluminum one. Read more ยป
