Tell the world a little bit about your vehicle
July 2011: Recently acquired this dentside F250 with my wife as we needed a suitable tow vehicle for our cars/her horses and something with a tray for fetching car parts and horse feed.
UPDATE Sep 2012: Now painted (as pictured). Ended up having a lot of rust repair required, which has all been replaced with new metal welded in. Unfortunately finishing this was rushed as I need it back on the road ASAP, so the paint and panel finish is a bit ordinary. Still, it's a lot better than it was! For 12 months it has been a patchwork of spray canned spots where I had done repairs, so it it is good just to have it all one colour again. LPG tank has been replaced with a larger one under the rear where the petrol tank was located originally. Interior has had a few tidyups, but still needs some work.
Update Jan 2014: Not much new to report, except the truck has done a huge amount of work over the past 12 months while we have been moving 250km away and renovating the old house before sale. Put more than 50,000km (30,000 miles) on it in the past year, and it's never missed a beat. Interior could now definitely do with a bit of TLC though,no work has been done to the truck with everything else that's been happening.
Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
351 Cleveland motor on straight lpg fuel, supposedly rebuilt to suit the lpg. Extractors, dual exhaust, air filter, functional bonnet scoop (cold air intake, but not forced).
Interior/Exterior Modifications:
Basic stereo which I will replace shortly, Momo steering wheel (horrible wooden one installed by PO), skull gear knob (also PO).
Future Modifications:
Planning to fit a Lock-Right or detroit to the rear axle to give better ability in muddy paddocks, and better traction on the bitumen. Seriously considering making some log manifolds and sticking a pair of small turbos on it. Need some kind of traction bar/slapper arrangement, as even now the axle tramp is pretty bad when you put your foot down. Still want to do more work on the interior, fit a seat with fold down console, new carpet, and some nice stereo gear (which I already have spare in the shed). Read more ยป
