Tell the world a little bit about your vehicle
British sporting cars have occupied my garage (one at a time) for almost twenty years. Cars I have owned include a 1977 MGB (a rubber bumper B), a 1963 MGB (a 'pull handle' B), a 1955 Triumph TR2, and my current brit car, a 1970 'split bumper' MGB. THE 'MG' MAKE IS NOT AN OPTION ON THE POP UP FOR MODEL INFORMATION FOR A GARAGE ENTRY.
Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
Stock engine, presently under going a complet rebuild. Original transmission was swapped out for an overdrive unit. This makes the MGB a much improved roadster for distance touring at highway speeds.
Suspension Modifications:
None, the knee action hydraulic shocks could probably use a rebuild.
Wheels/Tires Modifications:
The original MGB wire wheels and splined hubs were shabby and worn so new hubs and 72 spoke Dayton chrome wire wheels were fitted. With the 72 spoke Daytons I can run tubeless tires.
Interior/Exterior Modifications:
Stock, but I have recovered the seats. This winter the car is getting new OEM floor pans. I would like to replace the fabric top someday and will probably consider fitting new frame hardware. For the 70 B the top frame and bows come completely off the car and then take up all the room in the 'boot.'
Future Modifications:
Perhaps the top modification to a later model as mentioned above, but I want to stay close to original. Read more ยป
