I thought I would post his for you Mercury guys.
Also what are the lights on top of the front fenders and the lights on the side of the fenders? Those side lights look like I could cut out the little rust I do have.

I'm no expert on the '48 - '50's, but I think the lights on the front are factory, I've seen them before. Turn signals?

The extra chrome on the front fenders and hood, plus the lights, sure makes it look classy. This must be a "5-Star" or Deluxe model? or were all Mercs this fancy?

I'd bet that dome light is drilled thru the roof.

I asked the seller for a picture of the radio. I would like to see what that face plate looks like.

Here's a picture I found on the web of F1s leaving the assembly plant in Canada.

Is it me, or does the grill look different too?

I wouldn't mind getting my hands on any Mercury truck to restore. A Mercury Panel truck is my 'holy grail'.

The grill is different I noticed that also. I would like to find out what was used for the lights in the fenders. Was it the factory light in the grill of our Ford trucks just moved to the fenders?

It looks like they just took of of the bars (perhaps the one with the turn signal lights) and repositioned the remaining bars.

I Like the look of the fender lights and chrome!!!

I am not familiar with uploading pics on to a posting, but if you want to take a look at my gallery there is a front view of the 50 Merc I used to own. Had it fo 7 years good solid truck , and I miss her. If anyone can tell me how to upload pics on the postings, I would be glad to do so. I have other pics of it also if anyone is interested.
As someone just mentoned the Merc site, this truck is on there as well.

I keep on asking myself the same thing, as do many other folks that knew the truck. Oh well thats in the past and have to move on. I have this thing for old pickups, and if I had my way I would have to have one large storage space.
I just bought a 1920 Model T P/U, I must be getting middle age crazy.

That is a beautiful truck!
If you hit the "forum codes" button below the pic, you can "copy and paste" the codes in your post. The information between the image tags [img] here [/img] will be the location of the pic. For example, the first pic is located at

Thats it you pulled up what I was trying to get. This gives the ones on this thread a good close up view of the Merc.
Thanks a lot, much appreciated.
