Ultimate Suspension Upgrade - Carli vs Kelderman?
Hello; I had an 08 6" lift with 37's, a levelled 13, and a 15 that I kept stock with just BMF wheels and 35x12 Toyo's. I seriously considered the Carli Pintop for the 2015 but knew Ford was going to come up with something new soon and waited it out.
So now I have a 17 Platinum and want to do the ultimate suspension upgrade to make this truck versatile as a daily driver, a car hauler and a mild off-road machine on those washboard logging roads as I take my Can-Am Maverick to my favourite destinations.
I'm not interested in just a lift kit - I want improved comfort, handling and performance.
I am considering as mild a lift as the Carli 2.5 Pintop levelling system on 35's with full leafs and an airbag system to keep the truck level when towing (I hate a nose high truck). Not sure when their 4.5" Pintop will be available and not sure I can hold out that long....
I am also considering the 5-6" Kelderman setup on all four corners with a 37" tire package. With levelling control.
Does anyone with experience with both of these systems have a recommendation?
What is the most versatile option?
What would provide the better ride quality? Handling?
Would the Kelderman work as well as the Carli off-road?
Educated opinions and recommendations appreciated.
Thanks.

Carli
If you want Off Road Performance and a great ride over stock Do the Carli With Kings and if you want to be a road warrior and go up and Down choose Kelderman. I have one truck with just Kings 2.5 kit but had problems and another with King Carli Pintop 4.5 and rides the best even better than our Lincoln Navigator . My friend has Kelderman and rides okay on the street but it has no articulation off road has to many low riding pieces that can be damaged
I am waiting for my for my Carli Kit. I have been talking on phone with them it should be out with in the next couple of weeks.

Food for thought. My 4 corner kelderman on my duelly failed . 1000 miles. Had to have truck flatbedded back to kelderman to have fixed. 300 miles each way. They warrenteed. But. I'm second guessing now. The complexity is enormous. A lot to go wrong. As mine did. Only time will tell if unlucky. Or just a pain in the ***. . My truck aired all the way up front corner. Stuck. Twisted everything out of wack. Couldn't drive. As steering was all out of wack. Lol. Rides smooth as hell though.

Thanks for the good info Fonrday; you confirm what I suspected. I am not building a show truck for SEMA, but a versatile daily driver. Looking forward to the full Carli Pintop system.
Any suggestions on helper bag system to use in conjunction? I would like the auto levelling feature if possible.
Fountain 1 thanks for your input. I am a long ways from Kelderman on the West side of Canada so I want to stay away from specialized complexity.

This is an old and abandanded post. But I'm looking at these exact same option at this time.
I occasionally tow heavy with my F350 SRW, and would like a much better ride for times when I'm not towing so heavy.
Currently my 350 has the max springs from the factory, snowplow pack, and camper pack. I also have put 37x11.50's on the truck.
What did you all decide? I will be off-roading (gravel road towing SXS, farm land driving) and typically high-way towing for my 20k 5th wheel.

Anybody ever done front airbags in the coils, just to smooth out the harshness, air up a bit more when towing very heavy? You used to be able to buy front bags for Ford trucks with coils. Even if normally only run 10 psi in them, might be a good computerize for the rear bags for heavy towing and front bags for tuning. I have searched and found some options from Firestone. Just wondering if anyone has done, tank, compressors and controllers for the front and rear with gauges?
