Regular Radio to Satellite?

I have a 2015 Transit that had a regular am/fm but had sync. I purchased a used radio that has satellite on it. What do I need to do to get satellite radio? A different antenna? The new unit plugged right into the system. the new radio is working other than the satellite. Please help! Can't live without 125.

This isn't a common thing...what exactly did you replace? Isn't the radio a series of parts...i.e. screen, keypad, and presumably a receiver buried somewhere behind there?

I replaced the actual middle piece of the console where the radio is located in between the ac vents. The piece included just the radio on the inside and all of the buttons on the outside of the unit. No screens. The old unit had just 2 plugs on it and they attached to the new unit with no problem. Everything still works like I said including the sync. I was wondering if there is a difference in antenna , never noticed on these vans if they have a different antenna. I do have a nice size black piece on the inside of my van's windshield where a rearview mirror would go. That I assume would be for the sync system?

Interesting. I don't know about the antenna, sorry I couldn't be more helpful. The black cover near the rear view mirror covers the rain sensor for vans with rain sensing wipers.

The antenna would be different and IDK if it's able to just be plug and played in. The wiring harnesses aren't the one size fits all they used to be. We've gotten to the point in manufacturing that they can actually save more money on not having extra plugs clips and wires by doing specific harnesses for specific builds. Certainly it's possible, but you'd need to figure out what parts are different between the two, and that would likely take a patient parts person. You could probably find youtube videos on a more popular model such as the F150 and get yourself pointed in the right direction.

Much easier to use Sirius own install kit free w new acct. You can buy them on open market too but you must have subscription w Sirius. Mounts easy must plug into your input plug on factory radio if it has one?
