Hope the new thread consolidates your improvement suggestions. These pics are from previous owner, thus the no snow that we have in WI.
Thanks to all those responses!

That is a clean and nice looking truck.
Some things are not my cup of tea but that is what makes it different from others.

I see from your other posts you are looking to maybe go bigger on the mirrors and had questions on moldings and bed cover.
Think you also said something needing body work?

So what are the plans to this point?

Gorgeous truck!

I would like to have a bed cap like that on my truck. Who makes that? Do you see a manufacturer name on it anywhere?

I remember a small stamped info plate on it when I crawled in the other day. I will find it and send the pic. Thanks

VERY nice truck! Well optioned, with A/C, cruise, power windows & locks, but oddly no map pockets on the lower doors. However, those are easily added should you want to do so.

As we've discussed elsewhere, I really like the wheels. But, I'm not as fond of the extra trim nor of the spotlight, which I don't think is factory as I don't see it in the 1981 accessories catalog. But, maybe by 1986 it was available?

Good eye on the map pockets, Gary.

His truck *had* map pockets at some point. You can see the holes where they were. I think all Lariat models had the deluxe door panels with lower map pockets.

Although the hood ornament is an OEM Ford piece, I don't think that was original to the truck. I think that was made for an earlier 1970s model, but not available on the 1980 - 1986 trucks.

"Hood" ornament is:

C2DZ-16178-A .. Front Fender Ornament-1962/63 Falcon.

There's another that looks somewhat similar: B7A-16850-A .. Hood Ornament-1957 Ford Passenger Cars.

Both available from the repro parts sellers, but neither was ever factory installed on anything except what they were intended for.

And both are illegal, because in the 1970's, the Feds said that all hood ornaments had to be spring loaded, so they would fold/collapse if coming in contact with something.

The more you guys look the more I get the feeling that a lot of model matching parts and accessories is an issue. I would like to get it back to original, so will be taking notes as to what it came with or which options were available. So continue to chime in please.

I know I am getting ahead of myself on the missing pocket map panel, but was kicking around the idea of (as discreet as possible) cut in a 6x9 speaker down there and replace the upper with a mid/upper frequency speaker to compliment the 6x9. Again, just thinking at this stage as I still need to first figure out my temp gauge issue. Plus I am still recovering from the purchase, shipping, tax and license plate costs.

Dman130, just take your time and follow your heart! There is no one "correct" way... you make the truck what you want!

Here's what the original map pockets probably looked like. Only the front part expands to hold small things, and the back is just carpet. You should be able to get a 6x9 on the carpet portion easily - and it would look far better than some other places people have tried.

I hope the "well done" is for the picture. The placement of the speaker wasn't my idea nor Vern's, the PO.
