Question Grille Guard Conversion?

Hi folks. I have the opportunity to install this brush guard from a 2011 GMC 2500 series. I have a full shop and welding equipment to modify the brackets. How do you all think it looks?

A little lower and forward from the bumper, and it will look good. Just make sure it doesn't block the amber reflectors next to the turn signals.

I'd say it is too large and wouldn't use it.

I'd roll it forward slightly, or tip the top outward. Looks good to me though. Beats the heck out of a deer through the radiator. I built one with a similar hoop for my truck and it's worked well for me.

If the price is right and you have tools to make it fit go for it!

Mounted it today. It actually fits surprisingly well. All of the body lines on the front end match the bends in the guard, including the light housings.

I agree. That'll give you some confidence driving in the high country among deer. Still gotta mind the elk though!

How did you mount it?

I grinded down some of the braces on the guard to fit around the bumper better. Then cut and bent the top mounts to hook under the top of the bumper. Then butchered the bottom mounts and welded new brackets on to fit the existing holes under the bumper. Then added hardware and snugged it all up!
