can you post your door jam stickers?

i'm thinking your sticker will show a 10,000lb GVWR, that's why I was asking about your sticker. The F350 has an 11,500lb GVWR.

I didn't look at it yet but I know you're right because they only rate the F250 at 10,000 and you can also buy an F350 with only a 10,000 GVWR. The truck is identical but they don't give you the 11,500 rating. It's purely a gimmic to make the unsuspecting customer pay the extra $$$ and think they're getting something. Oklarado hit the nail on the head with the differences.
Like I said if the normal F250 we looked at would have had the one option we wanted I wouldn't even have the max tow.

not sure about the US but in canada when you order a 250 it automatically gets a 9900lbs gvwr you have to make sure the dealer adds the free option of 10,000gvwr if that's what you want

Reasons to buy the F350 over the F250:
- you get 11,500 GVWR vs 10,000 which translates to 1,500 more in payload
- to achieve the above you get better leaf springs, and potentially better wheels and axle (varies by options)
- It's not that much more money
- you will not be bothered by the internet weight/sticker police if you post about towing a moderately heavy 5ver
- you lower the minimal risk (very minimal) that you will get bothered by the real police for the same reason
- it's cooler
- it will sell better to companies that want the truck for commercial purposes due to much of the above
- you don't need to do anything to it to take advantage of the higher payload (but may want to anyway) (i.e. airbags)
- you have more options to put accessories such as a better bumper, winch, aux fuel tank without causing problems with the payload as mentioned above
- if you get a (stock, but) tricked out with every option Platinum Ultimate you will still have a reasonable payload of about 3,000# - 3,200# vs. 1,500# to 1,700# with the stock F250 (note: guesstimate considering high-end 6.7L in both trucks)
- There is tons of Internet lore warning of trucks exploding, trailers flipping, small children (yours and others) being hurt, tickets, lawsuits, etc. if you tow or haul past your truck's rated capacity. I don't believe 99% of it is true, but hey...I've been wrong before. With the F350 at least you insulate yourself from all of that for another 1,500# of payload. If you are standing at the dealership and your payment is going to be $1,200 per month for the F250 or $1,250 for the F350...just buy the F350.
Reasons to buy the F250 over the F350:
- If you tow for a living but don't have a CDL and want to tow the biggest trailers possible, you have more room under the GCWR 26,000 limit starting with a 10,000# F250 than an 11,500# F350
- Depending on where you live you MAY save some money on registration (varies from a little to a lot)
- Depending on where you live you MAY save some time/hassle on inspections
- Depending on where you live you MAY save yourself a ton of pain because certain states like PA, TX, and CA will burn you alive for towing over weight
- You get the F250 delivered with 60-65# psi in the rear tires which gives a little bit less bouncy ride...AND... you don't get a warning from the computer's TPMS at that pressure -- unlike the F350 which will bother you until you air up or disable the system
That's really about all I can think of. If I could go back and read this before I bought my F250, I'd have an F350. And for other, additional reasons, it would be a DRW.

honestly, I don't know why anyone would get an F250 diesel. There isn't enough of a difference between the 2 trucks to justify going F250.
