Storage Under Front Center Seat

Under the 40/20/40 jump seat in my 2013 F150 there is a storage area, and a cut out, suspiciously similar in size to a 1 DIN slot.

Are there any known uses for this space? I was thinking of putting my scanner down there with an external speaker.

I keep a bar of lye soap, two microfiber cleaning cloths, and my cell phone booster.

That pretty much fills it up ....

Well I was hoping there was room under there to cut out the DIN slot and mount a radio, but nope. Cup holders ruin that.

I just ignore it. I always keep the backrest down to use as an arm rest. By the time I get the backrest folded up, screw around with the release, I've forgotten why I was trying to open it in the first place!

I do like the fact that this small space hides my gun a little better than the bucket seat and large console setup in my 2016, although I love the comfort of the bucket seats.

Me too. I forget it's there until I need to seat 6 people and fold the armrest back up.

I keep a buck knife, an LED flashlight, and some spare Velcro for mounting my scangauge in my console. IT's too small for the gun I'd like to carry in there.
Gun? Why no officer I don't keep any guns in here!

Lol, I do keep a larger gun in the truck with the bigger console than the one I keep in my 2011.

Yeah I don't carry my gun in the truck while I'm at work either. If anyone found out, it's my job. I'm not always the boss's favorite anyway, don't need to get fired!

I'd only get in trouble for a firearm at work if it was unique and I did NOT bring it in and show it off to everyone.
