Cooter's 78 tow truck

Ran across this in Luray, VA today, though y'all might enjoy it. I don't know if this one was in the actual show. They had 01of course, and a 73 Fury III police car. I remember older Furys piling up behind the Duke boys though.

Don't forget Uncle Jesse's white pickup. I forget the exact year, but it was 73-79.

I don't remember the tow truck exactly, but I don't think those are the right amber flashing lights

He also had a blue and white 67-72 style chevy with a red wrecker boom like the truck in this pic. But the 78 Ford tow truck was Yellow and had more of a wheel lift wrecker bed, and not a boom style like the truck in the above picture.

See you were at Outlander's today!!!! Cool Pics!!!!

I guess they had a cruise in or some event today? Dang it! ..... and I went to Roanoke? Love Luray .... and Rancho Viejo ("Viva Mexico" is my fav, pork & beef combo).

I see that the inspection expired Dec 31, 2006 .... so been awhile since it's been used .... as a wrecker. One year a few years ago when they had the big weekends at Sperryville, Catherine Bach was there usually and if approached just right, would give a guy a hug. Some guy said something about her weight .... I told him outright ..... any woman who was the namesake of "Daisy Dukes" ... the shorts ... was a woman I'd hug if she was 90 and weighed 200.

Locally, a buddy still uses a '79 with Holmes 440 booms and a '78 Chevy .... but he has a nice near new large rollback.

For some reason, his dad acquired the nick name "Cooter" by the time I transferred here in 1981 and this fellow, his son is referred to as "Cooter Junior" at times. His dad used a green Dent but it's parked up on a hill in the trees .... this wrecker used to be owned by Reynold's Chevron in Glasgow where it sat inside a warm bay when not towing it's whole life ..... Eddie bought it about 5-6 years ago as I recall.

Now there's a tow truck I wouldn't mind being towed by!

Gotta love the ole dentside wreckers. They were some bad a** trucks. I love that pice of the old 650 stake body hanging off the rear of that wrecker.
