BANG! Along comes the EPA stating that the 2020 CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) Standard for all auto makers: 30 MPG
Since the F150 is by far, FoMoCo's biggest selling vehicle (followed by the Escape), what could Ford do, drop the fully boxed frame and change the overall length?
No, they went with an aluminum body (the firewall is steel) to save weight...roughly 700 lbs., which I assume is the Super Crew.
My former 2011 F150 Lariat 5.0L 2WD Super Crew weighed 5,875 lbs. parked at the curb. Haven't weighed my 2015 yet.

Well, a topic subject like that is bound to get a response. Looks are subjective. In a relatively short amount of time the "old" generation of Super Duty trucks will start to look old. The new truck will look totally the norm. I've found that if manufacturers make something look too evolutionary with a new model then familiarity breeds contempt.
I was one of the early cynics of the styling...but now that I own one, I can still clearly ID this as of Super Duty lineage. Lighter? The most weight it could have lost is 350 lbs. Most trucks will not end up being lighter because of new equipment available on this generation. Smaller? These trucks are physically longer and taller than the previous generation, with width remaining the same or within 0.10". Only the cab itself is physically shorter, but most definitely longer.
This truck is absolutely the state of the art HD pickup truck on the market today.
