What's with this related topics nonsense on the bottom of a new post??? There is no reply button at the bottom of the main thread and it digs up posts from the days of the dinosaurs. Then you read them and try posting to them (unknowing that they are years old) by the reply button at the bottom of them and you end up replying to an old dead thread in the original threads reply. That's messed up ..,,

we we can search for related fossilized threads with the search function, Thx but no thanks.... Its mixed up and confusing as h3ll. No related topics and a reply button would be just fine...

 

No one is forcing any one to click on the links... just ignore it.

What would you rather see at the bottom?

 

I agree with 51M1, it is confusing, especially if you are on a smartphone, it gets really cluttered...

 

Like see this picture, this is where the 2 threads meet and there is no definate break and no reply button for the above original post.....

 

Unless that is the reply button after the next threads title.....

Yeah.... Maybe put that bar above the advert, the related topic header and next threads title.
Right after the original post with a couple of lines to mark the end of the original thread... That might work...

I don't use the mobile version.. hate it. I prefer the desktop version even on my phone.

 

Yeah but the full site uses too much data , and 99% of the time I have to use my Iphone. And have made a few misplaced posts because of it being so confusing. Easy to fix.

Site was started in mid-late 90s, long before I-phones, when guys got their hands dirty.

related topics has been on the bottom of the page for at least 3 years now.
if you don't want to see them, you can always turn them off

 

Few times I've tried replying on my phone I've gotten caught up in the wrong post because of that format. I typically stay on my desktop and not worry about it.

 

I am shocked that no one has come up with some good answers to this question.

 

I've been on here for 12 years, never had a problem. Become a supporter and you'll find it's a lot easier. I don't look at the site from my Iphone, so not sure what the problem is. As HIO stated, no one forces you.
This is the best site, always traffic, fast responses and a great group of people to give good information on topics.
Normally the ones who complain are newbies. Once you learn how to navigate, it's better than any other site around.

So far, all is well, still under-going tests, but at least the Dr's have me going in the right direction.
