Traded a F350 for a F250

I took my F350 over to my friends house and we traded trucks. The new (to me) F250 has a "390" decal on the breather, but the VIN shows a "Y" (360) engine code. I'll check the stroke wed. The inside is in great shape, I turned on the AM radio and a baseball game was on- just like going back in time. The C6 automatic doesn't shift out of first when the lever is in the "D" position. But I just started out in "D" (first) then shifted it to the "2" position. I'm guessing that the valve body needs to be flushed/cleaned. It's been sitting for 5 years. The carb needs a good cleaning/rebuild too. I had to keep the choke out about 1/3 to keep the engine from stumbling. I'm sure my neighbor (that works nights & sleeps days) won't miss those flowmasters (on the F350) thundering next to her house!! I'll post some pics after I wash it off.

Got some pics after spending 3 hrs at the DMV. Seems they can't find the title or the title for my 98 explorer anywhere in the system. I have to go back with the registration to give them a starting point. PITA!!!!

So it looks like I have one of the carbs that has the heated water flowing through the base now. Did/does this system help with the choke warm-up time?

The picture of the whole dash and steering wheel looks like it came out of my truck.

I noticed who ever took care of the tune up did a red neck wire swap, save a few of the new wire for when the others go bad. In stead of putting in a full set of new wires they add as needed.

Back in the early 60's, I knew a shade tree fit it guy who worked on a few peoples cars for about half price of what a shop charges that did repair work like this.

He would do a tune up on one person car save the old wires an put a few wires like pictured on another persons car if it needed one wire .

His buddy who helped him was always breaking bolts from not having a Torque wrench. He would say he can judge the poundage by feel. Yeah What

It worked out good for me and the other guy. He got a truck that he could load up with body parts, and I got one the CFO likes the potential of. She has already asked about getting new mirrors, and getting it painted.

No, I put that on so I could put the grant steering wheel that was on it in my 49f1. I am on disability and can't afford to fix both up. I am going to sell what don't be needed to help fund my build. The 390 only had about 500 miles since I rebuilt it.
