Don`t know what the Stroke takes but the IDI takes 10qts. of oil. The 16qts you quote is, I would think, for the E4OD trans that both used.
The 16 quarts of oil is hard for me to believe as well but, the engine was rebuilt by a company called pmp or something like that. Sticker on engine sa " this engine requires 16 quarts of engine oil" Hard for me to believe my self. It looks more mechanical than a power stroke, but It is from a wrecker and all. A much larger truck really! Flat bed tilt/ bed wrecker with semi tires. What international 7.3 would this be if it takes 16quarts of oil? I will take a photo of the valve cover sticker if I can.
