winter front

winter front
So I have read in some posts that said the winter front supplied with the truck is for the prevention of snow clogging the air filter vent? As a truck driver in Alaska, I've always put a winter front on when the temp get down around 20 to keep the engine temp up. I though that it's the same with the 2010 6.4.

I inquired at my dealer about buying the winterfront. They told me that if I said to them that I was getting snow in my air filter they could get me one under warranty, along with a tube that pulls warm air in from above the turbos. So naturally that's what I said to them and I got it all under warranty because the later trucks came with it and the 2008's didn't.

Bad timing, I had a spare one you could have had if you paid shipping but my house burnt down 3 weeks ago and it was destroyed along with everything else that I owned. Life sure can be a bitch!

Thanks, the main thing is that no one was hurt and we had more than adequate insurance so things could always be worse. Always have to focus on the positives when things like this happen.

Slowmans,
Are you looking to buy one? If so, Alaska Tent and Tarp custom makes them and they are priced right. I ordered one yesterday and it's $45 plus $20 to install. They use the rivet snaps not the stick on ******. They also make a bug screen for the summer.
Just a thought, and way better pricing than the stealer. You could give them a call and see what they could do.

I was referring to the e-bay versions and the cabala’s type you get on-line. I believe the factory one from ford/dealer is also $90 or more if it did not come with your truck.
Just trying to help a brother out.
