OK....ive got a problem here. Ive got a 56 F-100...its got a 72 302 Torino engine it it. But someone threw in a different front end and rear end it it. a shock busted on my rear end and i need to replace it...howdo i find out what kind of rear end i have...i have the serial tag but i dont know where to go to decipher it....please help someone

 

Why don't you post it here? I imagine someone can decipher it.

 

what i got from the rear axle is as follows: WDM-M 3 50 6LA 301

 

Double-check the code you have to make sure you haven't mis-read any of the digits and then try this site:

There is quite a bit of info there and you might be able to deduce what axle you have by comparing your tag info with what's posted. Good luck!

That rear is a 9" out of a 63-72 F-100, 3.50 ratio non locker.
