Thumbs up Anyone interested in a weekend camping GTG?

We are thinking of having a GTG at one of our members private property, this will be a weekend camping GTG. Tentative dates are Dec. 3rd - 5th. Please post in if you are interested. JD can you give some details as to the location and what we can do while we are there?

I own some property in Holopaw, Fl. It is private land comprised of approx 100,000 ac. People use it for hunting, trail riding, ATV's and mudding. It is completely primitive. Pack in/pack out type of camping.

We will be camping in an area that allows motorhomes and travel trailers but there are no hookups. Remember, PRIMITIVE!!!!!

We welcome anyone to come to tent or camp. I have been camping in the area for over 25 years.

One other point: Being it is private property, there is a gate to get in and out. I have to escort people in and out. SO, with that being said, we will have a meeting place on Friday night and Sat Morning to get into camp.

The property is fun to ride around but best to have a 4x4. It is not necessary but highly recommended....

Hope we can get a good turnout....

Steve & I would definately be interested especially since the hot weather should be gone by then, but since that would be the heart of hunting season, wouldn't it be interferring with the hunters?

Also, how agressive of a 4x4 is allowed there because we should have the 69 Bronco done by then. Its strictly a mud truck. Or would it be better to bring the 4 wheelers?

Typically, the hunters do not mind as the property has been hunted for years. The hunters go up to the north side of the property, near the swamp and lake. The mudholes most play in are no where near the hunting grounds. In days past, the hunters got to know us and would seek us out and show us new mudholes. That has not happened in a few years but like I said, they dont mind.

I had planned to take my 71 bronco with the camper, so bring the bronco or ATV's.

If interested, being you have a bronco, we are having a bronco event on the property the first weekend of Nov. PM me and I can get you some details.

It sounds like it could be fun. I've been wanting to take my son camping for awhile now and was trying to figure out a time later in the year to take him up to Ocala for a weekend. It would be good to take the Bronco out and run it through the dirt for awhile.

This sounds fun. It is a long way i might be interested, i would see i could get a buddy to come. I have my 93 but i dont really want to dog it out. but the 78 cab swap project might be done so that would be coool to mud in down there.

Just the fact that were camping would be pretty fun to.

Interesting thread...and I believe that this could be "do able".... I will keep up on this thread.
Regarding 4 wheeling...probably not going to be doggin the Bronco yet. Have a bit of work to do on her before I stuff her in the mud....and I don't believe the truck will be apart by the time this GTG takes place...so I should be good.
Regarding the event in Nov...will not be able to make that... gone huntin Oct 23rd till Nov 14th.
Bee trying to stick this fella...which is now 2 years older since the cam took his pic.

My last decent buck... 1995

Suburban Estates......now that IS a playground....been down there a few times as a friend of mine has )had) a camp down there and was going to go down in the next month or so but he passed away last week. You left out the "shooting range" they have. And mud? OH YEA there is mud....make it at your own risk though lol. I gotta see if I can but, finances may not allow. I haven't been to Holopaw in awhile...let alone camping.

Nope, can't make it. I'll be at a motorcycle racing school that weekend. Besides, my idea of camping involves a 4 star hotel, room service and strippers.
