That's strange. Very few problems on these 6.2's. Maybe a loose ignition wire?

Welcome brabon, sorry you are having issues with the brand new truck. Don't let it discourage you, they are great trucks and a great drivetrain. I'm sure it's something simple and your dealer will have it fixed in no time. You will not find much in this thread because there isn't much to talk about.

Thats right, if you want entertainment go over to the cummins 4th gen powertrain forums, the page after page lists of issues & problems is endless....

I guess not a common issue...just me :-(

I've got a 2012 F-250 with 42K that is sitting at the local dealership waiting to be torn down...no compression on cylinder 3. It's been sitting there for 5 days already and it's doubtful that they will get to it this next week. I'm not terribly concerned about the repair since it is still within the power train warranty, but it's my work truck and it's damned inconvenient not having it and it's contents .

Has anyone heard of anyone else with a similar issue? It wasn't smoking or making any noticeable noise. I'm thinking possibly a broken valve spring maybe???

That was the first thing I thought of as I read your report. There have been a few with valve issues.. i.e. broken rocker arm.

If it was one of the modular motors, the followers sometimes slip off, but ... who knows. If they haven't even looked at it to diagnose it - which means just taking a valve cover off to see if there's anything amiss, I'd start pressing on the service manager.

I'm not in a position of power here. I bought it used, elsewhere. On top of that, I had my 13 Explorer in there last month (also bought elsewhere) for an issue that I ended up contacting Ford about. I may have gotten their hand slapped a bit. I am trying to go the nice guy route, but also pleading my case to the service mgr. as emphatically as possible, without being demanding. Maybe they will tire of seeing me in their back lot getting things out of it and feel sorry for me...it could happen

I wonder if they used the old rope trick to hold the valve in place while they changed the spring yeah right or compressed air. Anyway I'm glad it was something "simple".
Obviously some cylinders are easier to get to than others but I have yet to hear "cab off" with our 6.2s but maybe for heads or engine R&R it has to happen?

Apparently it wasn't a huge job. I stopped in there about 9AM because I needed something out of it. They had just pulled it inside and hadn't much more than raised the hood. They called me at 1:30 to tell me it was ready. When you figure in a test drive and a break for lunch, there probably wasn't much wrenching time involved.

I's a new member to the forum and a new owner of a used 2012 Ford F-250 6.2L Super Duty. I bought this truck form a local Car Dealer that I bought 3 or 4 cars from before. I've had the truck for about 2 Months now, but the problems started after having the truck for about 2 weeks. I'm having the same issues that I've read about on the forum and other places. It is a No Crank, No Start issue. I did remove the harness from the brake panel, opened up the connector and re-connected it. after I did this the truck cranked fine for about a week and then it would not start. I had the truck towed home about 4 weeks ago and that's where it been ever since. I've tried the harness again, with no luck. I checked all of the fuses and relays, the starter the battery and all of these seem to be ok. I tried to scan the truck but it says that it can't communicate. At this point, I'm not sure what to look at next, maybe the PCM? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
