For a bit of money with some audio equipment, external speakers, and a sound generator...you can custom design your ride's sound!

Not wanting to know the other issues that people have had with intakes, even the ones that may or may not give off the sound that he wants.

To the OP: If people have an a/m intake to sell and they still have the 6.0 truck, ask yourself why is it up for sale? If nothing else, atleast don't get an oil cleaned filter. I don't know how you clean(as far as over or under doing something) your filter, but those have been known to screw up the MAF sensor, typically due to overoiling, but some have screwed it up from the get go.

for what its worth to anybody. Im trying to duplicate the sound i've heard on a truck before. I'm not very smart so i'll get with someone on a nice radio, maybe that will get me there. I could even ride with the windows down. Anyway,, thats my main reason for all this, if its silly, or stupid, oh well. I dont think i've asked anyone to help me on any repair bills. I do want to thank anyone that has helped me thru this ordeal. lol

Like I said in your intake thread get you an 03 turbo. More than likely the truck you heard was with an 03 turbo. When I get back home I will post some videos of my. Truck with the 03 turbo and factory intake. You will love the sound. I get stoped all the time bh guys wanting to know what's in my truck cause they san there's to sound just like it. Yes I did have an am intake at one point too, just like most people. I didn't hear much difference in sound. I figured there's was no way it filter better either so I gave it to a friend for his stock intake. Anyways I will post a clip somtime at the end of the week first of next week to help you make your mind.

Turbo noise is way louder with my S&B. It is oiled but S&B has a chart that specifies the exact amount to use. You stick around long enough in these forums and you might just start to get a little paranoid.

lewis r,

I forgot to mention....(lol) in the interest of full discloser....and so that you can make a fully informed decision... prolonged exposure to high frequency sounds (like turbo whine) will damage your hearing. Of course its to late for me. I own 15" competition crossfire subwoofers being pushed by a bridged class D mono-block true 1000 watt amp @ 1ohm that I can weld with. In a previous life I've have competed in unlimited SPL class and had to re-inforce the windows in a rabbit so they wouldn't pop off. But I also value sound quality more so than the average 6.0 owner. So I know where you are coming from.

well, i really like your hearing story but i guess i want loud cause i also have a problem with hearing. a drag bike with straight pipes in a closed in shop, running alcohol and nitrous, will make you deaf as a fart. Maybe thats why i cant hear my truck. as far as the nice guy who wanted to send me a pic. If you can send it to lewisracing2006@***.net. thanks.
