2011 F150 and it's four new engines.
Great reviews so far. I'm really impressed with the ecoboost now I want to test drive one more so then the 5.0, never thought I'd say that.
"To say we were impressed by Ford's latest pickup powertrain packages would be an understatement. We are particularly keen on two of them: the base 3.7-liter V6 and the uplevel 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. It's truly an excellent sign that even the least expensive and most fuel efficient of all Ford F-Series trucks will boast 302 horsepower – plenty for basic chores and around-town running."
"As of today, Ford officially offers the very best range of powertrain packages in the half-ton pickup truck marketplace"

I want to see fuel economy figures on the EcoBoost. I also want to find a dealer that will let me hook up his truck to my boat and use it for a weekend. I won't buy it unless I can see that it does what I need it to.
Ford is on a roll with 4 new gas engines for F150 and a class leading diesel in the SD. Wish I had bought Ford stock 2 years ago.

A very interesting comment from the Pickuptrucks.com boys (who are about as "Pro Ford" as you will find in the media):
The EcoBoost V-6 lived up to its expectations of V-8 like pulling performance towing trailers, but in our opinion it felt more like a small-displacement V-8 instead of large-displacement engine.
and
What We Like (6.2L)
•If it tows in the F-150 like it did in the F-250 we tested in the Heavy-Duty Shootout, this is the engine to order if you’re going to tow heavy trailers frequently
•Excellent zero to 60 mph performance

The F150 6.2 is supposed to have more hp and torque than the SD version.

I wouldn't bet on that. The article above shows it in a Screw. Most F150s that will tow will be towing horse trailers, boats, and small campers all of which are family oriented. To bypass the Screw would be like chopping off a foot.

He means that is the ONLY configuration that you can get a regular cab in- in other words no short bed

I'll never understand the way Ford allows these trucks to be set up. Like why can't I have a ecoboost in a short bed regular cab or a 6.2L in a truck that is lower trim then the Lariat, Harley, and Raptor trim levels? These new engines are awesome but if I had the money and wanted to configure my own truck I would want it EXACTLY how I wanted it and not the way the engineers have deemed it acceptable.
