I've seen a lot of "low mile" dents, and they occasionally have more rust and wear than mine does @ 92K miles. I'm one of those who believes that every vehicle should have come equipped with at least a six digit odometer. Sure would drive down the price of older used cars on dealer lots!
I've recently been looking for an '80-'89 F150, and what I've noticed is interesting. If you change the 78 to 87, you can automatically multiply that 52K mileage by 4. Have found seven out of a couple hundred with less than 200K on the clock...(and the 200K+ trucks still have bloated prices)...but then again they have six digit odometers. Kinda makes me wonder how many of our dents' ODOs have rolled over and we don't know it.

I really like that truck and I think its a decent price. I like the color and 4 speed. I don't have any trim on my truck but if I did it would be exactly like that.
I've also wondered about the miles myself. The odometer on my 1977 reads 45xxx miles. Based on the wear on the rest of the truck I think it really is 145k but ya never know, could be 245k but I don't think it is. Everything is in really good shape.

My 79 250 supercab 4x4 now has 66,000 miles on her. Due to items such as perfect headliner, dash, brake and gas pedals, and near perfect seat I believe the miles to be correct. The body is not perfect, but due to it having a snow plow on it and it not being completely ate up with rust, I did not feel it was a bad deal at $3500. There are some out there....

The key word there is IF. And if I had my way, the word RARE would be illegal to use except when ordering a steak. $500 fine for each occasion...use the proceeds to fix the roads...at least folks would have to be more creative in describing how their vehicle is hard to find another example of.

Oh man oh man...I couldn't agree with you more. I've pretty much stopped looking at trucks the owner thinks is rare because typically the owner doesn't know his hind parts from fat meat. No your truck isn't rare.
And I'm there with you on the mileage thing as well. I think it's nuts how there are plenty of 92+ plus trucks with over 200,000 miles on them, but everybody and their brother has a pre-80's truck their grandfather owned and it's got less than 100k original miles. No it doesn't, you're either a liar or ignorant.

I assume the same. Like I said mine shows 45k. Thats pretty obvious to me that it has rolled- at least once! My uncle does have a 1977.5 F-250 that he bought in 1983 and never licensed it. It actually does have 62k miles on it. He bought it from the original owner when it was 5 years old and already had a crapped out 351m.
