1979 F250 wheels and tires??
I recently got a 1979 F250 with the snow plow package on it (D-60 front etc.) It now has 16.5 inch wheels on it now. I was wondering how wide are the wheels, and what other wheels sizes would I be able to fit on the truck including widths and backspacing?? What I really want to do is get a four inch lift and a set of 35's but I want know what to do with the wheel/tire combo. thanks in advance.

Don't know about the back spacing either. I'm running 33 12.50 16.5's on mine right now. Got a set of Aluminum 5 slots and a set of Hurricanes. No problems with either set of rims. I belive they are 10" The truck's suspension is stock, no lift. The tires fit well.

Hey screaming take a look at my gallery (in blue) there is my 79 f-250 with a 4-6 inch lift (suspension only) with 35 12.50 15 wheels if you decide to run 15 8 lug wheels you need a 1 offset wheel or a 0 off to clear the calipers mine are 2 offset and I put a 1/2 spacer on them and still had to grind on the rotors to clear them so a 1 offset wheel will work they do make 16 in 70's now but the 15 are cheeper to buy. I got my wheel out of a ad in peterson 4 wheel drive magazine can't remember the company name also you will need the new pitman arm for this lift here is a little hint if you build your own lift (I did the I-bolts is diffrent size from the back and front) need any more info let me know
