I have a 1956 F-600 that has a flawless cab and front end, and I've been wanting to build it into a nice truck to tow my toys around with. I had planed on installing a 460 with a 5 speed......
But I bought this today!
It's a 2006 Cat 3208 diesel with a 6 speed out of a school bus that rolled over. It only has 60,000 miles on it!
And I payed $1,200 for it!!!!!
Damn I'm good.............

It was just too good of a deal to pass up. I probably won't even start this project for at least another year, but the engine is in my container, and will be ready when I'm ready!

I agree, you don't need another project. You should just hold onto that for me and I'll take it off your hands when I get back to the good side of the country.
It would look nice in my '88 F350! lol

Evening Evan. I think I'll keep it..........Besides do you realize just how damn heavy that 3208 really is? I don't think an F-350 front-end would hold it!

I once installed a chevy 427 in a Datsun pickup for a customer. Doesn't mean I'd do it for me though................

put the cat in your motor home and the 383 in your truck lol! nothing wrong with it is there? i understand the cat is heavier than the 383 or the 460. i have a book that has the weight of most engines and not diesels. but that would be a good place for that motor.
