Where did you mount your off road lights?

Ive been thinking of putting 2 off road KC style lights behind my grill, I have an aftermarket grill, and there looks to be plenty of room behind it to mount 2 tabs. So before making any final decisions i thought i would see where you guys mounted yours.

FWIW...I have heard of instances where adding a couple of lights and blocking air flow from the radiator has caused cooling issues. I dunno what condition your cooling system is in, but it's something to think about.

hasteranger,
I dont have a woodshed so that wont help me.

704 dentside man,
I never thought about it causing cooling issues, thats a very good point. My cooling system is in good shape i like to think. New water pump, radiator, hoses, thermostat.

jdscooby,
Nice car, and garage! I dont think ive seen a chrome brush guard like that before. All the ones i see are painted black or silver, that looks nice!

This is my what i have to work with

Thank You. Brush guard was on the truck when I bought it, has some rust spots on it so need to look into getting rechromed. I don't have any cooling issues.

And the car is FUN!!!!!!!

Get a push bar or a grill guard. Mounting them up high on a roll bar is cool, but trees like to eat them too. lol

"Smart" F-100 4x4

Here's my rig with a pair of 6x9 Eagle Eye Offroad lights ($15) on a $20 brush bar... that was an awesome day at the swap meet!

The "Smart" license plate frame was free..

mounting them on the roof means they don't light up right in front of you, which is where you need it on technical trails. And as mentioned, they get knocked around by branches. But, they are up out of the mud, if you like mud. On the grille they tend to get muddy, they stick out and can get broken, and etc.

Or you could build a custom bumper and recess them into it. I think that looks pretty trick. I don't think they will light up very well if you put them behind that grille. looks like it would block at least half of the light.

I have always wanted one of those Roll bars that hold the 4 lights, but i was thinking maybe a tube bumper with a light rack and a bar over the top of the lights like a "baja" style one too

Have the bumper guards on mine. I will likely build an aluminum or ss rectangle brace and mount mine there.

if i could find a bull bar for a dent, i might even remove my bumper guards and use it.
