2010 F150 36 gallon fuel tank?

I just bought a 2010 F150 SC 4by4. I think I have the optional 36 gallon fuel tank but I can't find which option group it is included in. Anybody know?

To my knowledge (at least for the 09s) it wasn't in an option group.

Easiest way to make you actually have 36 gallon is to run her down to 1/4 tank and fill it up.

You could also look at your window sticker. Mine shows the 36 gallon tank as a no charge option.

My new 2010 Lariat CC 4x4 has the 36 gal tank. The dealer gave it to me with a full tank and I ran it until the 50 miles to empty message came on. It took over 32 gal to fill it back up.

26 gallon vs 36 gallon

I was freaking out with my 2010 XLT Screw because the gauge was dropping awfully fast for a 36 gallon! Pulled out the window sticker and to my relief saw it was a 26 gallon. I mean......I know the "Lie-O-Meter" does fib a bit, but if I had the 36 gallon tank, I was only getting around 11 mpg.......

I was told the 36 gallon tank is standard with a 145" wheel base or longer

I think it is an option. At least the owners manual lists it as optional. I wonder if it comes with the max tow package? I had no idea with mine but I had only 50 miles to empty and filled up 32+ gallons. That's when I grabbed the manual and looked to see what size it was. I am really happy it's that big. The 01 Ex has a 44 gal tank and I really like the range that it offers.

The 36 gal tank is one of my must haves when I start shopping in the very near future. My Expedition has the 27.?? gallon tank and I like it. Between SE Virginia and mid coast Maine, I only have to fill up once on an 862 mile trip.

The 36 gallon tank is standard on the FX4 trim and above. You can get it as an option on the XLT and below, but I dont remember seeing how much, if at all, money extra it is. I have it, and had it on my 07 XLT, and its nice to not have to stop for gas as often, especially on long road trips. However, it does warrent a huge OUCH when on empty and you have to fill it it up.

SUPERCREW 145" 4X4: XL, XLT, FX4, LARIAT, KING RANCH, PLATINUM, HARLEY DAVIDSON

You know what? I stand corrected. Perhaps it was the 09's and early '10s that it was standard FX4 and above. Because it USED to be as I stated.

soundwave, check out the 09 and 10 order guides and you will see the actual differences. johnwill is correct.

Basically, if you have any 4x4 model, then you have the 36 gallon tank (only minor exceptions are the Raptor and the regular cab 4x4 126" WB XL, STX, and XLT). The bigger tank was an option for some of the 4x2 trucks in 2009, but I don't see that option anymore for 2010.

I had seen it listed under the "optional equipment" list on window stickers. Case in point, I dont know how long this link will work for you all being thats its an Ebay link that will eventually expire, but if you look at the pics of the window sticker, you'll see it listed as an option. Where as in the FX4 trim and above, it is listed on the "standard equipment" list.
