center cap f 350 harley davidson

I have lost 4 caps. On the rear I use insulation foam that hardens. Fill cap and shove on. Front wheels ?

Lost 2 so far

I also have a Harley Davidson Edition and the replacements are $70+. They seem to clip into the wheel and not onto the lug nuts. Also the metal ring on the inside is supported by plastic tabs I believe. Not sure what I could bend on these to tighten them. Pretty frustrating, yet relieving to see that I am not the only one.

This is an old post but for anyone else that has this issue. I have a 2006 f-150 and my center caps kept falling off while driving. The issue is the wheel cover starts to separate from the rim. Idk what causes this but it forces the cover off when the rim flexes from driving.

Sorry the actual rim cover forces the center cap to too pop off.

Yes have found the same. The chrome plating is forged on to the rim only at the outer circumference. In time the plating is able to push out and no longer sits flat to the rim. You'll notice a good size gap between the chrome plating and the rim by the lug nuts, which prevents the center caps tabs from setting all the way down on the lug nuts which sit tight to the rim and not the chrome plating. It's very discouraging. I'm considering just getting different rims. I've lost 3 so far.

Digging up an old thread here because of a similar issue. I have an '03 F250 and the chrome rim skin has started to separate from the rim on 3 out of 4 of them. A little over a year ago, I came up with an idea to take 2" stainless washers and cut out a portion so that I put it under the lug nut and it has "wings" to hold the chrome rim skin from separating further. I put 3 of these modified washers onto each of the three rims that needed to hold down the chrome rim skin. It has worked well, but it puts the center cap further out, meaning you can't tap it all the way in. But they've been like this for over a year and still hold, until recently. One of the front caps is continually wanting to pop off. I tried filing away some of the high points on the back of the cap so that it could sit more flush, but it hasn't worked.

I thought about adding some silicone on the inside, but not sure if that will ultimately help, plus it will be a pain to get off when rotating, etc. Any other thoughts of how to keep one of these attached?

Going through the same BS with my new truck..Just bought the 07 f150 xlt for work...What the previous owner did was he pushed the cover back in and screwed 3 of the flaps right to the rim to keep it tight..the only one that flys off is the front driver,,he only put 2 screws in and i can push the cover in and out...going to put a third in and see what happens.
