So I know that the Eddie Bauer trim is out, but I thought they replaced it with an XLT Plus or something like that. It looks like instead that they offer a trim line less than the traditional XLT (the XL) ... I thought that perhaps what was the EB is now the XLT, but that doesn't appear to be the case as the '11 XLT specs look exactly like a typical XLT.
Lots of fluff! Packages all seem to include leather seats and "premium" audio systems, something I've little use for. Power lift gate? Power folding third seat? Guess they ARE marketing this to the soccer Mom set!

I agree. A lot of stuff I don't want or need. In 1994 when I placed an order for a new Bronco, I ordered the XLT package. Did the same when I got my 2002 Expy new. If they want to push the leather and creature comforts, they should be pushing people to the Navigator, not making the Expy a Navigator. Just my $0.02. Maybe my next truck will be an F-150 XLT Crew Cab instead.
One of the main reason that I purchased the Expedition was that it was offered at a great value compared to its competitor--the Yukon. Now, it seems that's no longer the case. If I wanted a full size SUV now, I won't even consider the Expedition at those prices.
I agree... I was thinking about moving from a 99 4x4 Expy to a new 2011 model, but I can't fathom paying $45k+ for things I could care less about. I just want a basic vehicle without all the bells & whistles crap.
