1990 f-250 460 oil pump replacement
ok.. for starters... i'm a mechanically inclined noob when it comes to working on motors so this might come off as a dumb question but i wanna know what i'm getting in to before i said ok or call the shop and having them bring the trailer over for my land yacht .. heres what i got... a 1990 f-250 4x4 extended cab with a 460 auto in it ... i have been told that i need to drop the pan out of the truck and clean the pan and replace the pick up tube and oil pump... can this be done in the truck? or am i going to have to jack up the motor or even pull the motor? is this a project that a noob my like my self shouldn't take on?... i can change alternators and radiators and stuff like that just never worked on the "motor" its self
Thanks in advance

when you start the truck it shows it does but when u take off or rev it up it drops to nothing... i was told the sending unit was bad and it was making the guage screwy and to just drive it ... well i did now i have a ton of top end rattle which i was told is because there was no oil getting up there because the pump was either plugged or bad... so now i'm trying to figure out how hard its going to be to get it fixed
