VSS problem, again? 95 F359 Crew.dualy diesel a/t 4.10

How hard or easy is it to replace the Speed Sensor? I had mine replaced months ago, 2 mos later, same problem, so I wigggled the wires and it goes 650 miles w/out a problem, then again, so I wiggle it again, gone 120 miles so far w/out problem....????.... guess I should inspect the wires for it? Was thinking of replace it also. What do ya think?

If you didnt get it from the dealer, you might try theirs, seema to a better quality, about 35.00 dollars. Be sure and check the connector,if it looks bad you can also buy one too.

Yes, I'm thinking that elec connector is toast... also the holding prong clips are broke off from previous removal, and over time I think it has wiggled and wobbled itself out..???...

It could happen. I would trace all of the wires back and look them over really well just to be sure, inspect the plug really good and replace if needed. And probably replace the actual sensor just to be sure, even if it isn't bad it's a good idea to carry a spare VSS. I have one in my glovebox along with a spare CPS.

Yes, b4 the 650 miles w/out a problem, I crawed under the truck and the connection WAS Loose, I was able to push it in about a 1/4 inch. B4 that I noticed that any times my Dogs would chase the Cat under the truck and go after her under there, I bet she was hiding up on the rear chuck.... The connecor clip stays are broke off, so she or the dogs could have nudge it loose. This last time b4 the 120 miles of no problem, the connector felt wiggley, like it would turn a little, as you might turn a radio dial... Its raining now, so maybe I CAN CHECK THE CONNECTOR OUR LATER TODAY.

OH, one more thing, b4 this last up shift problem, b4 I wiggled the vss connector, which then it made 120 miles w/out a problem, I TURNED the Key ON and OFF Quickley Five Times... I was told yrs ago that that would clear all the error codes.... any truth to that... do you think that does any good?

Not sure on that... disconnecting the batteries for a while will do it.

I got that from a dude that still owes me $ for towing FEMA trailers, anyhow after I droped one off it would not shift into overdrive. I called him, he told me to do that, and then if would shift into od. No more problems with that one.

THAT CONNECTOR WIRE WAS REALLY LOOSE, ABOUT TO SLIDE OFF. So I tied it on good with some small gauge elec wire. I removed the dust plate of the a/t and it looks like new in tere, dry as a bone. So I plan on getting a vss yet to replace the 1 in their now.

Good deal. I hope it works for you. Try to get a new pigtail/connector for it too.
