Carrier Bearing Drop

I put a 4" lift on my 92 F250 a few months ago, and I have been getting some wicked driveshaft vibrations at highway speeds.

I have heard that this can be fixed by dropping the Carrier bearing with shims (2 piece driveshaft).
Does this actually work or is it a better idea to just go with a new custom driveshaft?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
-Greg

Measuring propshaft Angles Phasing

I heard the same thing but I am getting other info from websites about drivelines.
I am adding 10 inches to the rear of my truck so I am dealing with the same thing.

Look into double caradan u joints if you have the money to spend. It looks like the best way to get rid of vibration caused by adding lift.

Thanks! great link.

My Bronco has a double cardan equipped driveshaft so if i cant get the carrier bearing drop to work i'll go with that for the F 250 also.

With a 4 inch lift adding spacers to the carrier bearing should work fine. I don't see the need to swap to a CV. Also, if you did a custom shaft, more than likely a one piece would be the best bet. Bad part is, some drive line shops won't make a shaft over 70 inches weld to weld.
