Transfer case shifter

Changing my '90 bronco over to T18 from my '89 f150. I want to use the tcase shifter out of the f150 but the tcase out of the bronco. The linkage on the two cases is different. Does anyone know how to change this?

Please elaborate on how they are different. Pics would be helpful because AFAIK they should be the same if those trucks are both factory equipped.

Don't have access to get pictures right now, but I'll try.
The reason they are different is that one is off an e4od and one is a t18. On the automatic the shifter comes through the floorboard and on the manual, it comes through the hump cover. Looks like it might be splined or something. It is the linkage that attaches to the rod going into the case that is different.

Why would you not want to use the xfer case shifter out of the Bronco? You already have the hole in the floor. Will the E4OD-style shifter not bolt up to the T18?

yeah, it won't bolt up. bolts to the automatic. thats why its over further. the t18 shifter mounts to the little 'tunnel' between the tranny and tcase
