2002 7.3 Running Biodiesel MPG???

I have a 2wd Crew cab and I have switched over to biodiesel. I have seen the mpg's go down from 15.7 to 14.5 over 6-800 miles. Is this common? Any way to get the mpg's back up? Would changing the fuel filter out help any?

Welcome to FTE. What percent Bio are you running? By default, biodiesel has less BTU's per gallon than regular #2 diesel, so you're going to end up with slightly less miles per gallon. When you drop below B20, the effects tend to be minimal with regards to MPG drop. The bio is an excellent lubricity additive for your fuel injectors though. It's also a solvent and will clean up any junk in your tank and lines (read: make your filter dirty sooner the first time or two).

Since ULSD is also somewhat a solvent, I wouldn't worry too much about plugging a filter.

Changing fuel filter may not help with MPG but is a good protocol to change it when switching to bio...
