That was good money for me then, I was 17 and a 1/2 then and went to the Ford dealer with my dad and put a deposit on my new truck. I would not of been able to do it without him as he was the co-signer for me. The truck sat parked in the driveway till my 18th birthday when I went to the DMV and finally got my drivers lisence.

No problem Andy. When I worked at the gas station it was more than just putting in the gas. We did windows and checked the oil in all cars unless they didn't want it done. Once in a while a customer would give a dollar tip for doing that.

 

Well guys in 79 I was only 3 so not even close to thinking of these trucks. ha!

In 1972 my dad worked at East Alton Illinois Olin Brass Factory (They Make Ammunition, It's in East Alton Illinois) he was making $4.75 an Hour.
