Distress calls to Anchorage police started tapering off by mid-afternoon, police spokeswoman Anita Shell told Channel 2 News.

Between midnight and 2 p.m., police say they responded to:
- 92 vehicles in distress
- 87 collisions
- 10 collisions with minor injuries reported
All roads have been reopened.
However, the day is not over yet. Police are bracing for the second rush hour that will begin around 4 p.m. as the people who made it to work will start heading home.
For the commute back, Shell says drivers involved in minor collisions should expect long wait times. With only 22 patrol cars and three traffic units, police response has been stretched between the traffic calls and crime calls.
Crimes in progress, car wrecks with injuries and major crimes will all take precedence over minor collisions, Shell said. "If drivers can work it out among themselves and file a Citizens Accident Report online, then that would be best."

Sure you aren't in NC? When it snows here the whole area in paralyzed, just a little has to stick on the roads and people panic.
Just finished attempting to service my transmission. Got the pan down..which by the way, if I ever find the monkey that decided to put that big bar in the way of the back three bolts on the pan, I'm gonna give him a piece of my mind. My hands are almost too big to fit back there. Fortunately I found a little el cheapo socket set I bought for cheap just to keep in the truck for emergencies and it fit just enough to allow 2 fingers in to rotate the wrench to get the final 3 bolts out after that fun and games I got the JW valve body installed, cleaned the fuzz off the magnet and replaced the filter in the pan. After that I spent a good 45 minutes trying to find where all my 3 year old had hidden the last pan bolt and drain plug. The boys a genius cause he managed to fit the pan bolt in to a hole on the frame that actually looked like it belonged there
