I am guessing you mean the HPOP when you say the injector pump? Electric fuel is a bit unnecessary for a stock or mostly stock motor IMO, but to each his own.

Nah I meant the fuel pump behind the bowl. I had refered to it as this because I am new to diesel mechanics. I thought this pump was a high pressure pump in addition to another mechanical. Haven't been able to find enough info onn the specifics of the fuel and injection

No big deal man, you're not going to find anybody on here give you a hard time for not knowing it all. We've all been there an hopefully we all learn something every day. That is the main (only) fuel pump. It is a two stage design.

HERE
is a great article explaining how the fuel systems in our trucks work. Might make your head spin a little at first, but it really makes a lot of what we talk about on here make sense once you start to understand how these fuel systems are designed to work.

As far as mods go, the best place to start is with a combination of the 6637 filter mod and a straight pipe turbo back exhaust with a 3" down pipe.

Keep the questions coming man, that's the way WE ALL learn!

That's a really good link from DIY if anyone needs more info.

Also more on topic, where is the best place to pick up an O-ring kit? Also is that the only parts I need to rebuild this thing? Does anyone have a complete exploded diagram of it?

Also what's the best way to clean this thing? I was gonna use a bucket of carb boil.

Diese-O-Rings is the best place to get the o-rings for the fuel systems in our truck IMO. I worked with Bob to get the list together for what I was doing. His prices are good and he included a listing of the o-rings and where they went with the kit I bought.

Here is a link to the fuel bowl kit.

Bob will take good care of you.

As far as the exploded view goes, I have never seen one for the fuel bowl, but once you get into it, it is pretty simple to do.

I cleaned mine up with rags and brake cleaner, but really any solvent would work.

The fuel bowl is pretty easy to rebuild. Just make sure you have a good clean towel to lay all the parts out on and clean them up with brake cleaner.

You can also get the o-ring kit from Riffraff Diesel.
