2000 F150 gear ratio

I'm looking at a 2000 F150 automatic with towing and offroad package that has a limited slip 3.08 gear ratio. Will this gear ratio be good for offroading and hauling vehicles? Or should I upgrade to a 3.55 or 4.10? I'd say my max hauling/towing weight will be 4000lbs. Thanks ahead of time to everyone who replies.

What engine do you have?

Also I didn't know that F150's ever had that tall of a gearing factory, but to answer your quest you can do ok (I'm assumeing stock size wheels\tires) with 3.55 but if you ever want bigger tires then get the 4.10.

As I understand it, 3.55 should be the min. for towing and 3.90's to 4.10 for the heavier loads...
