89 460

hi all. i was just curious. i have a 89 460 in my 79 p/u and was curious what the difference between the 88 and 89 460. when looking at rebuilt engines it seems there was a cut off between 88 and 89 and there were different prices. so im curious to hear what the major differences were. also if possible could someone tell me a general idea about the hp/tq numbers on the 89 460?
thanks in advanve guys

Is your 460 fuel injected?
88 and up were F I
From there on they were close to the same until the addition of 2.19/1.76 valves in (I think) 93.

1988 and later 460 were EFI's, 1987 and earlier were carbed. There were about 3 exhaust design changes between 1988 - 1993.
I have the late 1989 head (May 1989 and later) which has the small retangular exhaust port (read NOT good). I remember these engine being rated somewhere around 230-240 HP. Deen
