I know that Torino's and Ranchero's had the same front ends in that year and the same bolt pattern, but I always thought Mustang's had a shorter front end than the Ranchero and Torino, or am I mistaken? Seems to me like the Stang's front wouldn't bolt on right to a Ranchero not to mention the body lines wouldn't match up.... but I could be wrong, I suppose. It never hurts to give it a shot. Fenders and grilles really aren't that difficult to replace. It could look pretty awesome when it's all done.
I've heard of a company that makes something called a Mustero... or something. Pretty hideous looking. A Mustang with the trunk cut out and made into a bed. Looks something aweful, I think.
I've always wanted to make a Ranchero 4x4 - kind of like the Australian UTE but on an F150/250 frame. I have a buddy who is putting his 71 Torino on a newer (late 90's to early 00's) F150 frame and jackin it up to the moon.

You'd have to be an outstanding fabricator to install a Mustang front clip on a Ranchero. Everything is different....not one itsy bitsy piece of sheet metal is the same.
The body lines are different, the front track is different...and both are unit bodies with a stub frame the engine/trans bolts to.
