Sure lots of stuff, I just use whatever answers the question the best. This is the only place all the engine mods were listed in one place that was easy to copy.

I guess I've never thought to check if the intake is aluminum. I always assumed it to be cast iron. I'll look into that next chance I get.

As for the engine block, I don't believe it's original. The heads are missing, so there's no clue there, but I think I know why they're gone. There is a rebuilder tag riveted to the block on the right front corner of the right head face. An authorized Ford remanufactured engine by B.C. Engine Rebuilders of Vancouver B.C. Canada. It's stamped model EAC. My guess is someone ordered a replacement engine for a 52 Mercury (whether or not they said PU), and got a 52 Mercury EAC engine. I think there's a good chance I have a long stoke Merc crank for a future project.

As far as I know, the intake could be original and was used on the replacement engine. I'm not sure how to verify or disprove that. Hints?

I don't believe there's any way to tell when an intake was made, they have no dates that I know of. You're right, they seemed to usually swap the original intake to any reman'd blocks.

That would be cool if the block really has the Merc crank, I bet a Merc 255 block was only $5 more back then!
