CANT FIND MY OIL LEAK HELP PLEASE.

HELLO GUYS THANK GOD YOUR HERE, MY PSD STARTED LEAKING OIL TODAY BUT ONLY WHEN IT IS RUNNING. IT LOOKS LIKE IT IS COMING FROM BEHIND THE HEAD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND DRAINING DOWN AND OVER THE STARTER. IT LOOKS LIKE IT MIGHT BE LEAKING FROM THE TUBE OR RAIL THATS HOOKED TO THE HEAD. ANY IDEA'S. THE VALLEY IS DRY AND THE TURBO IS ALSO DRY.IT LOOKS LIKE TH GALLEY PLUG IS WET ON THE BOTTOM. ALSO THE TURBO PEDISTAL IS DRY.

There is also a valley drain on the passenger side and it will drain as you have described. Check the valley for any leak. Diesel fuel will some times fool you.

Acoording that the valley is dry, yeap it could be from there, or from the vc gasket or from the back and left corner of the union with the oil pan with the engine block ( I have the same leak and is the part that I can see well but I have the suspicion that its the culprit) and also but the last thing to think is the rear main seal (very rare).
Here are a pic of the big oil galley plug and BTW you can see the seal.

It's the oil rail plug, I'm almost sure. The plug with the 1/2" square in it. there is an oring in there on the plug. The plug new from ford is like $9. And the passenger one is pretty easy to do. Just gotta get the down pipe loose. I'm putting my money on that plug.

I think your right. it looks to be coming from there i just cant see back there but it feels wet. i cleaned everything with brake cleaner and it got wet right below the plug so i think that could be it. how hard is the down pipe to get off. are they known for going bad.

pull the 9/16 bolts right before the cat converter, to separate the DP from the rest of the system. Then losen the clamp at the turbo. Go back under the truck and wiggle the crap out of it till you hear it break loose from the turbo. Then pull the clamp off at the turbo. This should give you enough room to get a 1/2" ratchet in there to take it out. It's a super easy fix. But unless you drain that rail, be prepared for about a half a quart of oil. Install new plug, reconnect the dp, and you are done.

Yes, I've replaced 4 or 5 of them on different trucks. They just blow out after a while. I have one horror story about the drivers side, but I don't want to scare you off. But I will tell you this. Make dam sure you have the ratchet in there as far as it will go. It won't go in as far as a socket, but you'll see what I mean.
